A History of Make up - Egyptions

Hello, everyone! This is a bit of research I did for college but found it all very interesting so thought I would share with you.
The first time we discovered that the people of Ancient Egypt not only wore makeup on their faces but in fact made their cosmetics was in 10,000bc. This was a bottle of scented oil found in a tomb for softening the skin, kept in a sacred jar. This shows that the necessity of beauty products for the Ancient Egyptians was so important and that they felt a need to bring it to the afterlife with them. It was not long after 10,000bc that the Egyptians started creating that classic look that we all know them for which is the straight edge feline winged eyeliner.

The one thing that the Ancient Egyptian are pretty much world renown for is their feline flick. This is something that not only something the noble women did but also the worker girls. This was a revolutionary time for beauty. As for the first time, women were culturally allowed to wear makeup and not be looked down upon. All women tended to wear a black kohl liner on their eyes and eyebrows. This is something that is believed to be not only for the beautification process but also used in a medical way. It has been inscribed on many of the cosmetic jars that have been found that it has also been used as a way of keeping the glare of the sun out of the person's eye.

Lés Merveilleuses LADURÉE

Today I am going to be doing something that I do not often do, and that is raving about a brand that I have in fact never tried. The brand in question is a very expensive French brand called Lés Merveilleuses LADURÉE. So let's start with the reason of why I say it is a very expensive range if you ignore the fact that their lip balm is £45.71, their main product which is a blusher in a glass case with powdered rose petals inside comes at the high price of £112.77. Now I do not know about you, but I am not prepared to spend that amount of money on a product unless it promised me eternal youth.
So to learn more about this brand, I need to take it all the way back to the beginning, believe it or not, this brand of beauty products is a bakery. Actually,  It is one of the most luxury bakeries in the world all because it is the inventor of the double-decker macaron. Do not mistake this for the mothership of the macarons as that was brought over to France about 200 years before this bakery was even open by Queen Catherine de' Medici.  When you look at their current products, you will see that they all resemble the colour of macarons with that really stunning dusty pink. Nowadays they cater to the rich, famous and occasionally to royalty; they also like to make some stunning cameos is some of your favourite TV Shows.

Gossip Girl

You can see why I love this brand already. LADURÉE make a broad range of beauty products everything from bath oils to setting powders. However, one product that I am obsessed with, that I am seriously debating buying is their Face Colour Rose Ladurée. As I said earlier, it has the pricey price tag of being £112.77 and £80 for refills. However, all I can say is look how pretty it is!! It is a small glass container with rose petals in; How can you beat that? I just really need this in my life you guys. I may have to start looking into selling my soul.
That is actually all I can say on this subject now, as I may start crying. I just need it so bad or at least just have the jar. Basically, this whole post is about me wanting to fangirl over this little miracle of cuteness. I am surely not the only one who has done something like this before? Do comment down below if any of you share my obsession with this product as I am not going to lie I really need someone to fangirl with.

Most Wanted - Jamberry Nail Wraps

As you all know my favorite thing in the whole world is nail art. I can not live without it, in fact, I know get stopped by people I know when I don't have nail art on and get asked if I'm okay. So when I decided I was going to start to learn how to do my nails (Future blog series). My main worry was about my nail art. How was I going to cope not having any nail art on?! I mean trust me I have tried and tried but I just can't do it myself, although I am very determined to sit down and try to.

So you can imagine how relieved I was when I discover Jamberry Nail wraps. I have obviously apparently heard of Nail Wraps in the past and seen them I mean I haven't lived in a cave. But for the first time, I discovered patterns I liked. They seem to have designs for every mood I am ever in, which trust me is a lot.

How I Plan A Blog Post

I know it may not look like it, but I do put a lot of effort into my blog posts. I have an incredibly long and complicated system to who I do my posts. The reason I say it's complicated is because I have tried many, many times to explain it to members of my family with them only to reply with either "Why?" or "Surely you can think of an easier way to do this" But for me it works, and I wouldn't change the way I do it at all.

So today I thought I would share with you all how I plan each blog post. It all starts and ends with this little check list I made on my favorite website Canva. I have added it below for you all to take inspiration from. Not to copy.

Essentials Crystals - Psychic Sundays

Essential Crystals - Psychic Sundays // Georgi Simpson

One thing as a Psychic that I continually get asked about is crystals. No matter where I am or what I am doing they always seem to be the topic of conversation, a few years ago I would have only laughed. As, believe it or not, I did not believe in crystals. I did not think they had any abilities and were just an old wives tale. So when I started working 'professionally' as a Psychic, I was surprised to learn how frequently they are used on an hourly basis. It was through watching my colleagues that I felt the real power of crystals, sometimes I could even see the energy coming out of the reading rooms while they were healing. So through that, I have become a true believer in the power of crystals.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a crystal everyone should own; it is one of the only stones that can pretty much do everything. One of the primary uses (I use it for) is healing; it has an amazing ability to just genuinely make you feel better. Whenever I have a bad week where I just feel crap I tend to put this under my pillow and feel so much better by the morning.

Rose Quartz

As I am sure you all know Rose Quartz is the love crystal out of all of this bunch. Unlike the darker crystals rose quartz is for, the more romantic love rather than the passionate.

Citrine

This is without a doubt my favourite crystal. For me, my primary use of this is for when people are ill. Whenever anyone in my family is really sick or are in pain, I always put one of these crystals next to their bed.

Clear Quartz

I always call this the energy crystal, the best property of it is the fact that it stores energy. So when you are working those late nights and need that little boost, that coffee just can't give you then this is your answer.

10 Beauty Questions

1 - Do you remember your first makeup item?

Yes! I wrote a blog post about it a while ago, maybe even on my old blog. It was an Elizebeth Arden gift box my Nan bought for me when I was five.

2 - Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

Without a doubt, my perfect mascara is Charlotte Tilbury's 5 Star Mascara. I love that it clings to every single lash and for me, it gives the appearance of false lashes.

3 - What kind of coverage do you prefer from a foundation?

My foundation needs to be the most full coverage product you have ever seen, or I am not wearing it.

4 - Favourite high-end brand?

I do not really consider it a brand as I feel they should have a wide range of products first. However, I am in love with Christian Louboutin's makeup.

5 - What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?

Probably Kylie Cosmetics out of pure curiosity. I do not usually buy into the whole hype about a celebrity beauty brand, but I will admit that I am curious.

6 - Favourite drugstore brand?

There will always for me be one and only one drugstore brand, and that is NYX. Must I say any more?

7 - Do you wear fake eyelashes?

Of course, I do!I use to wear a pair every day without fail until recently when I discovered how much time it took me in the mornings.

8 - Is there any makeup you cannot leave the house without?

I do not really need to have makeup on when I leave the house. It is not something that I totally worry about.

9 - What is your most cherished beauty product?

My black eyeliner, I do not really have a favourite between all my babies so any black liner will do.

10 - How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?

I will probably shop at least once a week for makeup. However, I do not really bulk buy it nor do I have the intent to purchase a particular product.

Highlight to Perfection

As much as I do love a good contour, I think highlighting is my favourite part of the whole routine. There is nothing better than getting that beautiful cheekbone highlight.

Highlight to Perfection // Georgi Simpson

Can you all believe it? I have done a swatch!

Highlight to Perfection // Georgi Simpson

BECCA - £29

This highlighter I recently bought while I was over in America at Sephora. Which I love by the way. It needs to come to England as I am not sure how much longer I can live without it. This Becca highlighter is definitely now something I can not live without. For me, it is the right shade to match my foundation as I can not stand highlighters that are orangey. The sparkle in it is really fine, so the light picks it up in all directions.

Benefit - £19.50

This is an obvious choice. You cannot get much better than the good old high beam. It is a product that will be with you until the end of the day, exactly where you left it. This highlighter I love to use when I do a more dramatic look as I feel it is a very in your face product. My only downside with this is that it is, in fact, a liquid. Which is great but I do feel that sometimes it is pretty hard to blend.

Charlotte Tilbury - £32

I have just discovered (after I uploaded this) That Charlotte Tilbury has just announced the discontinue of this product. Excuse me while I go cry. This will forever be my favorite highlighter. It is the exact shade I need, meaning you can't see it unless the light hits it in the right way.
